FAQs

What is an independent financial advisor?

An independent financial advisor is not tied to a large bank, brokerage firm, or insurance company. This means we are free to recommend financial strategies and investments that best align with your goals, rather than being influenced by corporate sales quotas or proprietary products. At Astra Wealth Management, we operate as an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), which allows us to provide objective, client-first advice tailored to your unique financial situation.

What does being a fiduciary mean?

Being a fiduciary means we are legally and ethically required to put your best interests first at all times. Unlike some advisors who may operate under a suitability standard (where recommendations only need to be “suitable” for a client), we are committed to acting in your best interest with full transparency, avoiding conflicts of interest, and providing advice that is solely focused on helping you achieve your financial goals.

What separates us from other advisors?

At Astra Wealth Management, we take a personalized approach to investing and we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all financial plans. Instead, we focus on:

  • Comprehensive Planning– Beyond investments, we address taxes, estate planning, and risk management.
  • Tax-Efficient, Evidence-Based Investing– A disciplined, long-term approach tailored to your needs.
  • Independent, Transparent Advice– As a fee-only firm, we receive no commissions or outside incentives.
  • High-Touch Client Service– We work with a select group of clients to provide personalized attention.

Where is my money kept?

Your assets are held at Altruist, a leading independent custodian. We never take direct custody of client assets. This arrangement ensures your money is securely held in your name at a trusted third-party custodian while allowing us to manage your portfolio efficiently. You will always have direct access to your accounts and statements.

Are you fee-only, and how do you get paid?

Yes, Astra Wealth Management is a fee-only firm, meaning we are compensated solely by our clients. We do not receive commissions, referral fees, or compensation from third parties. Our fee structure is transparent and based on a percentage of the assets we manage for you, or as an ongoing financial planning fee.

What education and expertise does your firm have?

Our firm is led by a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) with deep expertise in investment management and financial planning. We specialize in working with high-income and high-net-worth families and individuals, helping them navigate complex financial decisions with confidence.

How do I begin?

  1. Schedule a Free Consultation – We start with an introductory call to discuss your questions and goals. If we’re a fit, we’ll move forward with our Discovery and Investments meetings.
  2. Develop a Personalized Plan – As a new client, we conduct a full financial review and craft a tailored strategy.
  3. Ongoing Partnership – We continuously monitor and adjust your plan to keep you on track.
